Frequently Asked Questions

When you repeatedly play the same sport, you overuse certain muscles and underuse others. Over time, this imbalance can lead to injury. Our trainers will assess you to identify which muscles need strengthening and which need improved flexibility. Cross-training is essential if you want to prevent injuries and elevate your game.

Absolutely! Pilates strengthens and improves flexibility from your feet to your neck, helping you stand taller and move better. And it’s never too late to improve your posture. A previous client, a 76-year-old woman with osteoporosis, had already lost two inches in height before she started Pilates. After working with me four times a week, she maintained her height in the first year, and by the second year, she gained half an inch!

Pilates and yoga share a mind-body connection, but that's where the similarities end. Pilates focuses on strengthening the body from the inside out. It teaches you how to activate your core, balance muscle groups, and maintain a neutral spine—from your feet up to your head.

Yes! Through our in-depth assessment, we’ll analyze how you use your body and identify any imbalances. We’ll teach you how to maintain your body to stay strong and pain-free for your favorite activities. For example, knee pain might stem from tight quadriceps that need Myofascial Release Massage (like foam rolling), or low back pain could be due to overusing your back muscles instead of activating your core, glutes, or mid-back. We’ll show you how to correct these issues.

Strong, flexible feet are crucial for balance. In sports like pickleball, without a solid stance and agile feet, you won’t be ready to move quickly or safely to return the ball. Weak feet can lead to poor squatting mechanics, sluggish movement, and even falls. Cross-training your feet ensures you stay quick, stable, and injury-free on the court.

The powerhouse refers to the transverse abdominis — your natural pelvic girdle and core support system. It’s the inner layer of muscles underneath your "six-pack" rectus abdominis. Think of it as your body’s built-in weightlifting belt. Pilates is the only exercise system specifically designed to strengthen this crucial muscle. A strong powerhouse helps maintain a neutral spine and supports everyday movement.
